This PACE FAMILY LINEAGE goes back to about the year 1600 the county of SHROPSHIRE in the MIDLANDS of ENGLAND the parish church of SAINT CHAD's at PREES, Shropshire where a ROWLAND PACE was registered as father in Christenings. ROWLAND PACE was not the only PACE father in Christenings at ST. PACE next one was ROBERT PACE Chr 1606 father RICHARD I'll assume the RD in JONE's Christening is RICHARD also at Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire THOMAS, RICHARD, and JOANE were in a PACE family, father JOHN PACE sister JOANE died at about four months of age about 18 years later at Prees, Shropshire a JOAN is Christened in family of RICHARD PACE a THOMAS PACE also shows as father in Christenings about the same time RICHARD & THOMAS may have migrated to PREES from WESTBURY on SEVERN GLOUCESTERSHIRE. I've wondered if RD., RICHARD and ROWLAND were the same person - spelling variations of given names were evident. Since relatively few PACE entrys were found after searching records of several surrounding parishes, permit me to take the liberty and arrange the entrys into respective families, as to father's name and date of Christening. This may not be absolute but for the most part, practical. Distance between towns where Paces were found was a matter of walking distance. WELLINGTON today is on the north west perimiter of the town of TELFORD and HIGH ERCALL about 2 miles north west of WELLINGTON and WROCKWARDINE less than 2 miles west of WELLINGTON.         This JOSEPH MAY HAVE emmigrated to AMERICA. A DARRELL PACE of Charlotte, North Carolina MAY HAVE valid research results based on a JOSEPH PACE of BLOXWICH, Staffordshire of this time frame and nothing further is known of this JOSEPH from Staffordshire.         from a descendent in North Carolina of Joseph B Pace Joseph B Pace Sr is my ancestor and he appears in our family records in Chowan County, North Carolina on September 23, 1788 when he married Zilpha Woodward. From that point on to present, we have a clear record of my family line of Paces. Joseph B Pace Sr from the Census records was born in England. He was born between the years of 1756 - 1766.       JOSEPH b 1758, another brother, may have emmigrated to America. No doubt there was dispersement of the family at this time. WILLIAM PACE 1765-1811 who I descend from was said to be from BRADLEY in his marriage to MARY BROWN of nearby HAUGHTON.
